Shopping for some Apple products? There is an Apple shopping event this Friday (27th) on the Apple Store (NZ). At this stage it’s unknown what the specials will be, but it will be worth checking out.

The TomTom for iPhone is a great product – but it doesn’t have all the features of the full TomTom hardware. Each release improves this situation. TomTom have just released a free update to v1.2.
The latest 1.2 release gives you
the latest map update for NZ
“Safety Camera” locations and warnings
Speed limit warning
Improved accuracy with GPS Enhancer
Support for the original iPhone and iPod Touch (TomTom cradle required for best results)
Some of these settings are OFF by default, so go to Change Settings->Alerts to turn on the camera and speed warnings. Click on Advanced to turn on the GPS Enhancer.
One of the least known features of Spark is its custom pricing feature. If you have access to Database->Customers, you can click into a customer record and go to the Custom Pricing tab. In there, you can choose from all Labour and Material products and set pricing for that customer only. This pricing will then be used for all Proposals and Invoices.
NOTE: This feature works as long as in your Administration->Preferences, your “Calculate Time Cost Based On” is not set to “Staff”
The next meeting of the Auckland InDesign User Group is scheduled for November 24th at the Media Design School in Queen Street. This will be last session of 2009.
The Apple TV is a great system. Goodbye to your local video store by renting movies directly from your TV (via broadband). The latest update to the Apple TV operating system brings a new user interface (although, once you drill down below the top level menu – its similar to 2.0). Its a great looking update.
So, some of the things people don’t realise the Apple TV can do:
Browse and view YouTube Videos. (You can watch LOL cats all day)
Browse Flickr photos
Connect to your iPhoto and display your photos on your TV (Great when you have 472 holiday photos to show friends)
Browse the rental movies by Actor, Director etc (Great if you like to follow directors)
It can also view any movies which are stored in iTunes on a computer on your home network – just as long as they are in mp4 format.
